Cadbury Athletic are delighted to bring this unique version of football for people aged over 50 to the Bournville community. Walking Football represents a great opportunity for people over the age of 50 to get back involved with the game they love, keep fit and meet new people. Walking football section is led by former first team players Darren Pickering and Lee Shannon.
The sense of community and family that being part of Cadbury Athletic brings is something that rings true about our latest addition of Walking Football, the team was formed in 2018 by a group of retired Cadbury maintenance workers.
During 2022 the league's brand had grown which saw the addition of six new teams, as a result the league was split into two with a Premier and Championship league formed Cadbury Athletic played in the Championship last season which where we were crowned champions playing 14 games, winning 12, drawing 2, scoring 43 goals, conceding just 14 and we boast three players who have represent the Republic of Ireland at International level.

Walking Football players train every Wednesday at Lordswood Girls School from 8-9pm, sessions are light hearted and all ages and abilities are welcome. For those that still have the ambition to compete Cadbury Athletic have an over 50's team and a newly formed over 58's team for this season.. Games are played 1 in every 3 weeks based at Coleshill Town FC's ground on a Sunday afternoon, it's 7 aside and games kick off at either 2:30 or 3:30 and play 2 halves of 25 minutes whereby subs can roll on and off.
